Maguire Shutsout Sea Captains in Playoff Opener

Danbury, CT- Ryan Maguire set the tone for the postseason with a brilliant save on Brian Essing early in the first period of the Danbury Jr. Hat Tricks’ playoff opener against the Norwich Sea Captains. From there, Norwich piled up 38 shots on net. Maguire stopped them all, anchoring a 4-0 shutout effort.

Offensively, Nick Rogers took the game over with a playoff hat trick, continuing his postseason success from last season. He added an assist on Reese Tamburo’s goal for a four point game, having a hand in all four goals the Hat Tricks scored. Tamburo’s goal was a welcome sight as he skated in his first game since leaving the Danbury vs Norwich game on February 24th due to injury.

Captain Seth Beagle added two assists in the offensive effort.

Norwich’s Andrew Yocum stopped 30 of 34 shots.

Danbury leads the series 1-0. Game 2 will be in Norwich on Saturday,
