MIDDLETOWN, NJ – The Danbury Jr. Hat Tricks (7-9-0-1) travel to New Jersey on Wednesday to take on the New Jersey Titans (9-8-0-0) for a 12:30 puck-drop.
After an 11-day layoff, leading scorer Nikita Kovalev and the Jr. Hat Tricks will be back in action. This will be the Jr. Hat Tricks first game since a 4-3 win at Norwich on Nov. 19.
Kovalev is tied with Daniel Khatib for the team lead in goals with 10. Kovalev has added eight assists this season to lead the Jr. Hat Tricks with 18 points.
This will be the fourth meeting of the season between Danbury and New Jersey, with New Jersey taking the first two. Danbury responded in the last meeting on Nov. 3 with an 8-6 win in New Jersey.
The Hat Tricks’ eight goals were their most in a game this season. The Hat Tricks have sured up their defense since that game, allowing just 10 goals over the last four contests.
New Jersey enters Wednesday coming off of a nine-day layoff. The last time the Titans took they ice, they were swept in a two-game series with Northeast. New Jersey was outscored 15-0 in the two games.
The Titans are paced by Teito Ishigaki’s 18 points on seven goals and 11 assists. Roland Ponechal leads the Titans with nine goals.
