Colonials split weekend with Nordiques after OT thriller

DANBURY, CT– The Danbury Colonials split a late-weekend set with the Lewiston/Auburn Nordiques, dropping the first game 6-2 then prevailing in overtime on Monday 6-5 in overtime.

Sunday night was a tumultuous one for the black-and-orange brigade, handily outshot and outskated en route to a blowout loss.

“We had a rough night [Sunday],” head coach Kevin Cunningham said on Monday. “We had a tough conversation after the game, and a very frank conversation today on our expectations.”

The Colonials responded, besting the Nordiques 6-5. Though the Colonials allowed a pair of late-third period goals to even up the score sending the game into extra time, Dylan Webber netted his third of the game to secure the victory.
